👉 The event aims to raise awareness among young people about the importance of youth activism regarding the equity in opportunity for women and accessibility in education, especially when encountering existing biases and discrimination based on place of origin.
👉 This human library will shed light on the additional constraints faced by girls and women regarding equity in opportunity and accessibility in education, including the impact of youth activism and a migratory background.
🟣 What is a Human Library?
In the event, the speakers (the “books”) 📚 , who are drivers of change in their communities or, at some point, experienced prejudice, social exclusion or stigma, come to share stories from their personal or professional experience with the participants. Everyone present will then be “switching books” during the session in order to hear everyone’s story. After hearing the speaker’s story, participants will have the possibility to also ask them questions, have a conversation and/or discussion, in order to learn about the other person and also challenge their own prejudices.
This event, organized by Social Equity Working Group in collaboration with Europe on Track, will take place on Zoom https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84363568190?pwd=VXUzMTdka0gveHBlN2hkL01HTm9vZz09 .
