Nonviolent Communication Workshop

Hosted by AEGEE-Praha [ ] and AEGEE - Wrocław [ ]

Words often lead to hurt and pain whether for others or ourselves. The way we communicate in our modern society is often based on the reward/punishment game. Since our childhood we learn that good heroes beat up villains who deserve punishment, we are led to moralistic judgments of what is wrong and what is right. As a result, we move away from others in communication and are less likely to achieve our needs and mutual understanding.
Non-violent communication [ ], developed by American psychologist Marshall B. Rosenberg, is a way of communicating through which we are able to express our needs in a clear and non-aggressive way and more easily gain mutual understanding, whether it be a conflict or a daily situation.
During this workshop you will learn:
- The basic concepts of NVC also known as giraffe language
- What kind of communication prevents us from understanding each other also known as jackal language
- How you can use NVC in your daily life
